Licence on USB drive - Best Practices.

Hi, I remember information on the LT website about installing the LT license on a USB drive. There was information about running the files from the USB or the PC and some great advice associated with this approach.

It looks like this information is no longer on the website.
For example, the page https://livetraker.com/songs-must-be-put-on-same-usb-drive-of-software-to-work/ is no longer there.

I wonder if we could have some up-to-date advice here in the forum on the various approaches to using a USB to hold the Licence.

Hi John ,
We don't support anymore the USB (external lifetime) License from January, 2023...

wasn't related to your questions, it was related to FILES, not Application and License.

all that said, if you own a LIfetime USB license (purchased before 2023) and you are into the TErms Rules here:

you can simply open a ticket from your customer area to receive support to reissuing a license

Thanks for the reply.

That causes me problems. I have multiple Elitedesk PCs in my live rig. If one PC fails, I can move my Livetraker USB license to a backup PC and continue.

I am about to purchase Extended Support and update my LT software. Does this mean that when I update my software I can no longer use the USB license option to manage my live rig?

i would like to change the POV: "If one PC fails" it is a wrong approach
One pc for live and one for backup is far more than enough even for "big shows" and moderm computer , if well configured, very rarely has issues.
Personally i run (big) shows with 18Gb banks each with a couple 2017 pc's: never replace one of them.
issue OFTEN are related to External disks or SSD's, beucase are usually the less quality tools than a full pc AND are subiect to magnetitims, dust, broke, falls etc...
again: 2 pc with LT installed and you're good to go even for large show (we lreay has such artists do that worldwide)
